The completed pitch of the Igbogbo Stadium, which its construction is nearing completion, will on Saturday, 9th November 2025, host the closing ceremony and final match of the second edition of the Ikorodu Constituency II Cup, a tournament initiated and sponsored by Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The tournament will go down in history as the first to be played in the new stadium, with Makbet All Stars and Tripple All Stars playing in this year’s final match.

Winner of the tournament will go home with N1 million and a new trophy, while there is N500, 000 cash prize for the second placed team and N400, 000 for the third. The sum of N300, 000 will be given to the fourth placed team.

While Tripple O All Stars won the first semi final match played at Egbin Power PLC Football field, against Oke – Eletu counterparts by 2 – 1, the commanding presence of Hon. Aro Abiodun, who is the captain of the ljede All Stars team, was not enough on Saturday, to see his team through to the final, as the team fell 0 – 2 to the visiting Makbet All Stars.

The semi-final matches, however, lived up to their billings as they featured top-class football and electric atmosphere, while passionate fans stormed the venue to watch their darling teams.

In the first match between Oke Eletu and Tripple O All Stars, both teams displayed great tactical discipline and hunger for victory, but it was Triple O All Stars who showed superior sharpness in front of goal. Despite Oke Eletu’s early dominance and pressure, Triple O All Stars maintained their composure and sealed a 2–1 victory to advance to the final.

The winning team’s togetherness, swift transitions, and resilience proved decisive as they booked the first ticket to the Grand Finale.

In the second match which witnessed the ouster of Ijede All Stars, the team of the lawmaker could not do much despite his presence and full participation which resulted in their solid performance. The Makbet All Stars clinical finishes and ability to take advantage of opportunities earned the team 2-0 victory.

Oke -Eletu and Ijede All Stars teams will play in the third place match which will be staged before the final match next Saturday. This will afford spectators another opportunity to see their darling representative and the sponsor of the tournament on the pitch once again.

Royal fathers, state government funtionaries, sports administrators and other eminent personalities are expected to grace the grand occasion in Igbogbo.
